Written many years ago, before the birth of my son.
Unborn Child

I Pictured you with brown hair, and hazel eyes,
With skin as soft, as the clouds in the sky.
A little round face, with bright rosy cheeks,
And little pink lips that pucker while you sleep.

A true blessing given from God above,
A child conceived in the union of love.
Your little fingers wrapped around my thumb,
And soon those little feet will learn how to run.

But soon you’ll be growing up, and growing up too fast,
Such a picture of beauty, from each stage you’ll pass.
There will be lessons to learn, and promises to keep,
But right now sweet baby, you continue to sleep.
