A poem I wrote about graduating 8th grade and emo stuff like that.
I wish that it wasn’t true my friend
That we must go our separate ways
But I wish you lots of luck my friend
And many happy days

I wish there was a special way
For us to remain friends forever
But I hate to tell you this, my friend
Nothing lasts forever

These years have been some of the best
The memories will never fade
From many plays and spirit days
To sitting in the shade

I know it’s hard to think this
But I’m sure it will boil over
I hate to see you cry, my friend
But nothing last forever

I’ve gone through many friends these years
I’ve lost quite a few, although
If someone asked me if I regretted it
I think I might say no

For I’ve learned a lot of things these years
Too many to remember
But the one that shall always be stuck in my mind
Is that, nothing lasts forever
