A first person fantasy story about a boy named Ruro. Chapter one
Everything was dark. No moon was present to shine in the darkness, it was simply a dark night. People sleep with no fear, mostly because there is nothing to fear of. But they are completely wrong. I also thought that there was nothing to fear of, we didn't have any criminals around here, it was peaceful... Or so I thought. And I came to realize that this world was more dangerous than other people think it is... And I realized that when I met him, His name was Nagaro, our family fears him, but I don't. He is my friend, my ally, my classmate... and he is... no was once the king of demons.

My name is Ruro, I live in small village in Kyoto and a high school there. I'm first year, or a freshmen. I was very well known in class because well... I created such a ruckus back at Middle School. People were scared of me, even the teachers, because they knew, that I was disobedient and very strong, able to take every single one out in this school. The first day of school, was boring as hell, who would've thought that studying was better than listen crap from your teacher? The first half of the day was over and we had a lunch break. My friends and I went up to the school roof to eat lunch there, it had an awesome view, I always slept there, well not everyday but mostly. I looked at the view again as I was day dreaming, then my friend, Ken, hit me on the back of the head. I looked at him and he smiled.
"You look as if you're about to die," He told me, and my other friend, Ao, started to laugh.
"Don't die here Ruro," Ao said, I looked at him and stuck up my middle finger.
"Screw off," I told him, "The last time I was about to die was when you guys left me against those gangs," I told them.
"Hey, we didn't have any choice, you said you could handle them," Ken said.
Yeah right.
"Hey, Ruro, Ken, did you notice that guy in the glasses?" Ao asked us two, he pointed at a guy lying down who seemed to be very quite. He had a book in his hand and it seemed like he was reading it.
"Oh that guy? He's uh... Takataki Itachi, he's also a first year and he seems he likes book a lot," Ken replied to Ao. I looked at this Takataki guy, and realized that he had white hair.
"Damn, look at his hair, is that natural or dyed?" I asked Ken.
"Hell if I knew," He said, then standing up, "C'mon, lunch is about to end, and you don't want to start a fight with your teacher on the first day of school now do ya?" Ken asked me, then went to his classroom.
I looked at Ken as he left, shaking my head, "Damn nagging guy," I said, smiling, I stood up and left with Ao. The rest of the day was again back to boring, the teachers giving us crap about something, I had no idea that they can be this boring, I stopped listening and went to sleep. No one bothered to wake me up, and the reason why is that they are afraid I will beat them if they wake me up, which wasn't false. Fourth period ended, fifth ended, and sixth was different, there was one brave teacher, who taught english, who stood up and actually hit me on the head with his book. I looked up in pain.
"What the hell?!" I yelled as I stood up, this guy was a little taller than me, he looked down at me as he shook his head.
"Wake up sleepy head, this isn't your house, you wanna sleep? Wait till the school ends and go to your house," He said. I was about to give him a serious beating, but I decided not to, it's been a while since someone actually stood up against me.
I stood woke in sixth period because I wanted to see this teacher who bravely stood up, but after sixth, I went straight back to sleep. School had ended really slowly and I left with Ao and Ken. We were talking about new games that was coming out and later we talked about the gang that we fought last time. When we reached the mountain, I said bye to Ao and Ken then started to walk up there. Up the mountain stood a temple, and that was my house.
My parents looked at me and shook their head again, "You are a complete fail," They said, "Coming from family of priest and priestess to protect people but you just go around and pick fights,"
They said. I looked at them irritated, why couldn't they just leave me the hell alone? I was about to say something then I stopped, there stood my grandfather behind the door of the temple, as he was looking at me furiously. I had a bad feeling about this so I stepped back, grandfather was the only one who can beat me in fights, even though he's old, he's fast and strong. And he reminded me that again by jump kicking my stomach, I stepped back in pain after getting kicked.
"Y-You bastard..." I said, then he kicked again but on my head this time, and in two hits, I fell down then fainted. How is it that I went against fifty people with metal bats and crow bar and won against them, but lose to this old man in two hits?
I woke up and found my self next to two gigantic lion statue, I was confused, "What's going on?" I asked, but no one was there.
I looked around, trying to figure out what's going on, but I couldn't. Minutes had passed as I was still in confusion, then I heard a voice, it wasn't my grandfather, my parents, nor my brother, "Who is that?" I asked.
It sounded very eerie, and figured out that the voice tried to say, "I'm Soul Brigade," I looked in confusement, "Soul Brigade? What is that? I wasn't good in english," I said, but before I could say more, once again, I fainted.
