a lyrical children's nursery rhyme
Vincent of Clyde went out of his way

To see the sights of the fair town of Skye

He watched as the children laughed and played

In paper hats and a twinkling eye

William  the piper who was piping an aire

From a battered tin whistle at his lips

He pranced and capered like he didn't care

With a hop and a jump and a skip

Singing fa-la-la-la-la-a-dingle-a-dally

Ring a rose-rosie for poor little Sally

Dance in the rain to earn a fair tea cup

Skip over puddles to catch a puddle duck

The lord of the manor will surely complain

For ding-a-dell dancing about in the rain

The pretty blue wren flew up to a branch

Resting her wings in an old partridge tree

She view all the land as far as she could

From Ramsgate to London across the far valley

Feeling the grace of the gnarly old wood

And the sailing masts sailing across the far sea

As the old tars climb the rigging and heartily sing

Of old London town where fair lassies are waiting

Singing fa-la-la-la-la-a-dingle-a-dally

Ring a rose-rosie for poor little Sally

Dance in the rain to earn a fair tea cup

Skip over puddles to catch a puddle duck

The lord of the manor will surely complain

For ding-a-dell dancing about in the rain
