Don't Wanna Be This Girl

Chapter 1: Last school Day
"Hey Mel! What are you doing this summer?" asked one of my best friends, Caleb. While we were waiting for the bus. He stood at least a foot taller than me, well it seemed like it the way i was always having to look up at him. Caleb and I had lived next to each other for two years now. We always walked with each other and usually talked about the craziest things but it seemed like this morning we weren't really saying much. He had been exceptionally quitet on our ten minute walk.
"Well when school lets out today i'm going to see mom, then i'll be on my way to the airportto go to hawaii. I'm staying with him the whole summer." I replied excitedly.
"So you will really be gone all summer?" he asked in a grave voice.
"Yes sir, why?"
"Oh just wondering."
"Ok well it seems like somethings on your mind. Do you wanna talk about it?"
"Um no... i'm fine." Even though he said he was fine i knew he wasn't. I could always tell when their was something wrong with him but this time i decided not to push him. any other day i would've but not after what had happened last night.
Last night, i went over his house like i always do because unlike him i didn't have two parents that were always home or weren't strung out or working. So i usually went over there for dinner. But after we ate dinner we went up to his attic where his brother and sister's old prom outfits were. Us being the crazy people we were decided to try them on. I put on a long pink satinstrapless dress, i thought it was so pretty i decided to let my hair blonde long wavy hair down, when i came out of the bathroom their was caleb looking stunning in his white tuxedo with a prettty blue tie. When i walked out i acted like a model and struck a pose. He then said, "Hey Melissa you look so beautiful! May i be honored to have this dance?" I thought this was all a game so i went along with it.
