Last time we hid... I won't make that mistake this time. Her words went unspoken as she packed up her gear, but they both knew what she was thinking.

"We can't fight them Kage! They'll kill us like they killed papa!"

"They killed him because he knew where we were hiding. We're the reason he did Krysi! He died because we weren't experienced enough to fight with him." She blamed herself for not training hard enough when she had been given the chance.

Krysi stood in silence for a moment, showing no emotion in her face except for the hatred she was feeling toward her sister.

"We were kids Kage. We were only twelve then. There was nothing we could have done."

"We're not kids anymore though Krysi! That was six years ago and if you want to hide like a little girl again be my guest, but I'm not going to let father's death be in vain!"

There was a look of shame on Krysi's face.

"Papa knew that together we would be more powerful than any mage in the land and that we could rescue this land and its people. We just haven't been ready until now because you've just been too scared to get up and fight!"

The strange look on her face made it clear that she knew that Kage was right. She saw fighting as a sure way to share her father's fate. Kage saw it as an honor to finish what their father had started.

Kage sheathed her blades and placed her dagger on the right side of her belt.

"I'm done hiding Krysi."

Krysi grabbed her bow and walked over to Kage.

"What's the plan?"

"We're going to rescue the rest of the alliance and take back what is ours."

"For papa?"

"For papa."
