CANDLE IN THE WINDOW There is a candle in the window, there to light their way, there's a mother kneeling beside it, taking time to pray. Tears fall softly as the twilight settles in the sky, again, old memories and moonbeams soon come creeping in. Chorus: There's a candle in the window and a heart full of love waiting here, to welcome home the wandering souls that in her heart are held so dear. Flickering candlelight cast shadows on the wall, she listens for the sound of footsteps in the hall. She wonders if her prayers are still heard by Him and keeps the candle burning to welcome them in. A mother's love is endless and never fades away, like the candle in the window, she awaits another day. The road is long and rough, she's been through it all, just waiting for a letter or perhaps a loved one's call. Chorus: There's a candle in the window and a heart full of love waiting here, to welcome home the wandering souls that in her heart are held so dear. There is a candle in the window, there to light their way, there's a mother kneeling beside it, taking time to pray. Tears fall softly as the twilight settles in the sky, again, old memories and moonbeams soon come creeping in. Countrymom 12/10/10 |
