what happens if Bella never jumped off the cliff? what if Jake got a better chance?
'He's never coming back Bella.', Jake's voice repeated in my head. I sighed and looked up at the gray clouds warning me it was going to rain soon. Maybe he really wasn't going to come back but how could I move on? I still loved him but my feelings for Jake were getting stronger and I couldn't deny that fact.
"Bella, please." Jake pleaded. I looked up at him.
"Yes?" I asked. Jake sighed.
"What are you thinking about?"
"Nothing." I said too quickly and looked away towards the ocean.
"Lies." Jake always knew when I was lying. He could see right through me.
"It's nothing important." To you, I thought.
"Him." He stated. I just shrugged. I heard him sigh yet again.
"Bella, when are you ever going to realize he doesn't love you the way I do. Bella, I love you. I wont leave you. He left! Why can't you see that?" I looked into Jakes eyes and saw how important I truely was to him but I knew Edward loved me. I looked down at my lap and listened to the waves crash for a few minutes.
"He loved me," I stated trying to convice him and myself. "I know he wouldn't lie about that. Who would? That's cruel and that wasn't how he grew up."
"He is a blood sucker, Bells. A BLOOD sucker. He sucked all the blood, the life, out of you and you don't even realize it! Your whole world evoles around him! Think about yourself for once! You are hurting yourself! You guys were never meant to be. We were." Jacob whispered the last part and held onto my hands.
"Jake, please.." I whispered closing my eyes and pulling my hands away from his. "Give me some time." It was quiet for a few minutes. I dared myself to look at Jacob but wish I hadn't. His face was twisted in pain. "Jake!" I gasped as I soon realized that everything I did was hurting everyone around me. I leaned over to touch his cheek but he gasped and smacked it away. I stood up quickly and ran as fast as I could towards the street. I needed to stop hurting everyone.
"BELLS WAIT!" I heard someone yell out behind me. I turned to look and saw Jake running. Something hard smacked into my head and I landed on the rough sand. I felt wet splashes on my face, signaling me that it was raining. Jake came running towards me and covered the rain with his back. He wrapped his arms around my waist and lifted me up a little bit.
"Bella, are you okay?" He asked. I nodded but regreted when I felt the pain shot up from my neck to the back of my head. "Bella, please. I really love you and you know that. I am willing to wait but only for you. I hate knowing you still love that bloodsucker. I want you to love me. I believe we can make it and be happy together. Just please, Bella." Jacob whispered to me with a pained expression. He closed his eyes.
"Jake..." I whispered touching his cheek, just wanting to make his pain go away. He leaned in and before I could process what was happening, he kissed me. He opened his mouth and I gasped but kissed him back. The kiss was gentle and soft. Loving. He pulled back slowly and stared at me with questioning eyes.
"I love you." I whispered, wrapping my arms around his neck pulling my face closer to kiss him again. He helped me up and our lips met but he didn't kiss me.
"I love you, too." He said back and smashed his lips into mine. I kissed him back eagerly. After a long time he pulled back so we could breath.
"Jake..." I said in shock. Did I really just kiss him?
"Mhm?" He hummed with a huge grin on his face.
"I gotta go..." I said and hurried to get out of here. I ran towards the street while thanking God it had rain because it was now easier to run on the sand.
"Bella?" I heard Jake call out. I didn't respond but just kept on moving and going as fast as I could. I had never pushed myself to run so hard before. I heard other feet smacking into the sand.
"No, Jake. Please!" I screamed at him but didn't turn around. I got to the street and ran towards the treaty line not even bothering to look to see if he was still following me. The rain was easy to hear on the streets and wondered if I would even be able to see hear Jake behind me.I took a deep breath when I saw the treaty line only a few yards away. I know he could pass it and it wouldn't matter since they weren't here anymore. I crossed the treaty and stopped running, falling to my knee's to catch a breath.
"Bella...?" I heard a musical voice say.
