Our Own Paths

These steps that we take
Only lead us away from what we love.
They lead us apart from each other.
And I wish we could have given one more hug.

Our paths become far apart.
And we lose our ability to talk
To each other, and to others.
But we must keep to the path that we walk.

Maybe one day our paths will connect.
And maybe our stars will align.
But I keep following this path of grief,
Going sign by sign.
