A Guide
His eyes burning bright
Find their way through the night
From the porch, to the door
Slinking silently on the floor

He watches on his sack
As the door opens, just a crack
A small girl quickly peeks
Spotting the cat that she seeks

Her face comes alight
With joy, although fright
She knows she cannot be seen
Not out of bed, not with Reen

Reen, "her" loving cat
The only one, to hug and pat
The only reason she's still alive
The only reason she can survive

He is still there when she is bashed
He stays even when she's smashed
He knows, that she needs him
Although, she cannot feed him

So he comes every week
To the girl that does peek
And guides her on
So that soon she to will be strong.
