The word of life

In the beginning
would seem to imply
the Word was alive
before you and I.
-
Before any plans
of planets were laid
the Word chose to come
to what He had made.
-
The prophets of old
in wonderous delight
already had seen
this heavenly light.
-
And wise men did come
to look on the face
the shepherds had said
would be in this place.
-
We know it has been
some two thousand years
but still the Word lives
to quiet all our fears.
-
And He can give life
to all that will look
at what is written
inside of the book.
-
In the beginning
all one and the same
the name that still is
above every name.
