What my child will say in the future
My mother stands by the young filly,
its hair blonde and wild.
Her body is still youthfully pale,
but will turn golden tan as she ages.
Almost pecularily are her blue eyes,
despite her sire's dark.

That filly will learn many things
at the hands of my mother,
as they all do, young or old,
introduced into her world.

That filly will learn affection,
a pleasant massage and groom,
sweet words in her small ear,
and a body to rest against.

That filly will learn respect,
a mindful distance,
an eye and ear forever on the
slight frame of my mother.

That filly will learn trust.
as no one else can make
even the largest of hungry cougars
turn into tame kittens.

That filly will learn discipline,
the mere twist of a hand,
the pitch of her call,
and she will respond, joyfully so.

That filly will learn love,
the primary lesson my mother teaches
in everything she does,
through the discipline, trust, respect, and affection.
