A progression of life.
As mingling mem'ries touch, one with another,
conceptive thought is quickened, so it seems.
A fertile blend of father and of mother,
that bursts forth, as a brand new day of dreams.

The early thoughts for such a simple mind;
to have a meal or take a poop—the race.
Then precious warming touches from the kind
and smiling glances from a friendly face.

To satisfy a curiosity,
a “look and see” demeanor then emerges.
Acquired growth, clad in catastrophe
begins as mind and body soon converges.

Quite quickly then, much as the eagle soars
in dreams concerning capability,
a new found voice of self-reliance roars,
with fiercer focus on “who I will be.”

Now “look and see” evolves to “live and learn”.
In endless lessons taught throughout the years,
supportive dreams provide rewards to earn,
though some are grand and others filled with tears.

These fruitful days in life are filled with glories.
The who, and how, and what in deeds now done
are woven into interactive stories,
reminding dreams, of prizes that were won.

One day the need for what you have grows thin,
no worthy service sought by other men.
The deaf'ning silence of your dreams begins,
and “live and learn” becomes “remember when”.

In distant mem’ries, echoes of a voice,
that beckons you come hither to this world.
Compelled by powers far beyond a choice,
into this turf of training you were hurled.

When in this wondrous realm, one lesson learned
is birth and death are one and quite the same.
Departing here is merely to return
unto that former state from whence we came.

As heirs apparent to a foreign land
our dreams lie far beyond this heaven’s dome.
So joyfully we wait a new command,
a sweet familial voice that says, “Come home.”
