Monsoonal moisture left
Took with it cooling clouds
And pleasant summer rain;
The rising temperatures
Are an energy drain.

Monsoonal moisture left
Behind pristine blue skies
And dreams of lightning
With rumbling thunder
That are quite frightening.

Monsoonal moisture left
The wind still blowing through
Green limbs of oak and pine,
Birds hunting for insects
In afternoon's sunshine.

Monsoonal moisture left
Suburbia refreshed,
As flowers and weeds fight
For garden space to grow
In a bright batch of light.



Form: The Monchielle form was created by Jim T. Henriksen. It is a poem of four stanzas, each of which contain five lines of six syllables each. The first line of stanza one is the first line of all the stanzas. There is a rhyme scheme, where the third and fifth lines of each stanza rhyme.
