Let me preface this with a riddle. What is more common than dirt, yet more valuable than gold. Every man has it, and yet it is invaluable. Men don't treasure it, until it's nearly gone. The answer is "time". Every man has time, every man uses time, and every man, at some point, even wastes time. Time never stops, never slows, never waits. It's constantly ticking forward. Time that has been lost cannot be regained, and is gone for eternity. How is it, that time is thrown away and wasted, yet once it's limit is known, man suddenly cares for time. Seconds, Minutes, Hours, Days, Weeks, Months, Years, Decades, centuries, millenia. No matter how you add it up, no matter how the numbers go, you will always come to the same value; the time you have is less than enough. If we already are given below the necessary amount, why then do we throw it away and further squander tha which is far from excess. People may say "Time is Money", I say though, this is false. If you run out of money, you may bounce back to your feet, and continue going. If you run out of time, however, you cannot get back to your feet, you cannot regain time, or earn it back. The time you spend is non-refundable. Once you've run out of time, that is the end. Therefore, make the most of that which we have, and do not take for granted that which is a blessing, for tomorrow, you may be taken away, and your time suddenly run out. Do not let yourself be full of regrets, do your best to make the most of every day, every hour, every minute, and every second. |
