Wrote it one evening thinking about the night before. April 25,2011

What if

I thought I heard your voice
As I walked past this bar lastnight
I wanted so much to see you again
I was going to turn and go in

It was fear that stopped me
I fight with it now every day
Most times it's fear that wins
I wonder now what might have been

What if I walked in and saw you there
With your hand holding someone else
And your pretty eyes seeing only him
It's a pain I can really do without

What if I walked up to you
With my heart on my sleeve
Told you I wanted to see you again
Only to be turned down with a laugh

What if I found your pretty smile
And your pretty eyes happy to see me
With my name on your soft sweet lips
I'll just go on wondering what if
