A story about a daring rescue, dragons, and more. This story will be in chapters.
Chapter one:
Ally woke up.
"Where am I?" she said aloud to herself. "Where's mom?"
Ally quickly got up. She tried to look around, but her vision was blurry.
"Ow!" she muttered. "They must have hit me in head when the left."
She had to find mom now. Her captures were either going to sell or kill her. Time was running out. Where could they be? She look out at the vast open field and saw nothing.
"Wait a minute," she said. "What is that?"
Out in the distance, their looked like what might be a house. There was certainly a fire, and fire was great, because Ally was freezing. She ran like an Indian, not making a sound to a little cottage on the edge of the wood. She peeked in the window and saw an elderly woman stroking the fire. Ally was pretty sure she was harmless but never the less she had her bow drawn as she made her way into the house.
"Open the door!" she shouted.
"Coming," said the woman in a kind voice". "Can I help thee child?"
"Thank you ma'am," said Ally respectfully, "you couldn't unless you have seen a group of Giants with a woman in a sack?"
"That I have child," said the older woman. "They went towards the Tartalle."
"Oh no," said Ally in despair. "Then they are either going to publicly execute her, or sell her.
"Who is this woman dear?" inquired the woman.
"She is my mother ma'am," said Ally.
The old woman look at Ally in an understanding way.
"My parents too were taken by the giants, when I was very young," she said.
Ally felt like sobbing but she knew, that was the only thing a warrior must never do. She and her mother had been sent to get Triston, the leader of these parts. For she and her mother were some of King Greors mightiest warriors. Sadly the giant had attacked while Ally was supposed to keep watch, but she fell asleep for only a minute and that was when the giants attacked. They fought their best but the giants were bigger.
"I must rescue her," said Ally determinedly. "I must go tonight because it is a week's journey for humans to get to Tartalle."
"Take my son with thee child, he is decent with a sword and will be a great help to thee," the old woman insisted. "By the way child, my name is Mildred."
"When will your son get her," said Ally impatiently.
"I do believe he is here now, I think my old hears hear his dragon pulling in," said the old woman with a smile.
Old Mildred's son came in the door about a minute later. He was about 6' 4'' and very strong looking. He had blue eyes and slightly wavy short dark hair.
"David," his mother said, "This is... what did you say your name was dear?"
"Ally," she said with dignity, "and one of King Greor's mightiest warriors."
"Well, David, this Ally, one of King Greor's mightiest warriors. Her mother is the one that the giants had heading towards Tartalle, when we saw them today," said Mildred.
"Oh," said David thoughtfully, he was paused in thought for a minute when his mother said
"And you my son are going to help her save her mother before tomorrow."
"We had better leave now then," said Ally and David almost in unison.
David and Ally started out at about 8:30 P.M into the pitch black darkness. For it was starting towards the ice time in this land and it gets dark very early. They traveled out of view from the house, and Ally hardly noticed that David was even there. They were both very lost in thought when David quietly as possible shouted,
"Get down."
She bent to the ground when David pointed over to a bunch of giants sitting around a campfire less than 100 feet in front of them.
"Do you speak giant?" Ally asked hopefully.
"Nope... argh, if only they were dwarfs," muttered David under his breath.
Ally thought she had heard Triston's name mentioned, but she couldn't be sure. Suddenly Ally heard an awful noise.
