poem about personal feelings |
Diamonds are a girl's best friend they say That special diamond that shows that the man is for real But the diamond is a hard stone It has sparkles And it has shine It has worth It has weight And it has facets This diamond can sale ships and pay for a house Yet without this diamond some don't feel self worth Are we as hard as the diamonds that we wear Are we as hard as the family that sells them and steals and kills for them Diamonds are a girl's best friend When no one else is around we can always take out our diamonds And say we have self worth But yet that same diamond that can help keep us warm at night Isn't enough to sustain our life without material possessions That same diamond isn't enough without love in our heart Food on our table Clothes to wear A smile A home cooked meal made by him A poem written A song he wrote and sang even off key A new outfit he bought The moment of release comes As we decide where we think this road we traveled shall end Shall it be the way of the diamond hard fought and won But thrown away when something bigger comes along Or of the other way of the diamond The one that is worn and used for years to come Until that time at which we die Diamonds as hard as they are They all have flaws That flaw will show through But still you would have a beautiful diamond That has stood the test of time Passed down to the next generation |
