Silent Enemy

A spaceship suddenly stopped.
It slowly started turning around in a complete circle.
Stopping again where it stopped the first time.
A slight humming sound coming out of it.

The humming got louder and louder.
It appeared to be going out into that part of the sector.
As suddenly as it began the humming stopped.
The spaceship started its journey through space again.

It didn’t go very far before it stopped again.
Another spaceship suddenly appeared from nowhere.
A single Laser Ball came out of the front of it.
It struck the first spaceship with a loud explosion.

The second spaceship started circling around the first one.
After only going around it about halfway it stopped.
Another Laser Ball shot out of it.
The first spaceship got hit again – in its engine section.

Those engines were sent flying away from the first spaceship.
Smoke came out from where the engines used to be.
The first spaceship began firing Laser Balls at the second one.
Those Lasers Balls flew through space all around them.

Most of those Laser Balls exploded in space a few seconds later.
Some of them did hit the second spaceship.
It didn’t appear to be too much damage to the second spaceship.
Most of that damage came from the center of that spaceship.

At first, it appeared the second spaceship was dead in space.
It didn’t do anything but float sideways.
Then suddenly it straightened out and sped away.
At first, it looked like the first spaceship would follow them.

Why did that second spaceship attack them?
Everyone on that first spaceship wondered about that.
They would probably always wonder why it all happened.
Why they were attacked they will probably never know.
