Doctor Strange Movie Review

Well this is kind of a first for me as I don't usually do these kind of things, but seeing how I just finished watching the movie and it's fresh in my mind. I thought I would at least try to share my thoughts about it. First I am going to make one thing clear though. This review is based solely and entirely upon my opinion after seeing the movie. You are entitled to your own opinion so it is okay if you disagree with what I said. Second I don't watch movie's that much so don't expect too much of these kind of articles. Now on with the review.


The movie Doctor Strange which came out recently for me, felt rather lackluster to me. It wasn't that the special effects weren't amazing or unique. Nor was it the concern of introducing the mystic and cosmic parts of the Marvel universe that it introduce's. If I think about it I think my problem with the movie was that it didn't feel like a movie, but only a half of movie. When I think about the reasons as to why it feels that way though, it's quite simple. It has similar plots that have been done before and leads up to mentioning something which will most likely lead up to the next Avenger movie they do. In short while connecting the movies does have an advantage for Marvel I do feel that it also can hurt the movies as independant movies.


As far as characters go I do believe that they were well acted. Then again I am no expert on acting so I can't really tell you that completely. As I said the visual effects were amazing and if you love eye candy movies then this movie definitely has quite a bit of that. I did enjoy Doctor Strange and I found all the characters from the Ancient one, Mordo, and Wan to be entertaining. As for the villains they just seem rather generic and not too interesting. Like a lot of people I would like to see more interesting villains from Marvel, perhaps their would be more later on. As of right now however that's another problem a majority of people who go and see the marvel movies complain about a lot. The not so interesting villains.

To Cut it short, and summarize it though. Amazing effects, I think the actors are great in their respecitve roles. However I still find the movie lackluster and only mildly entertaining. Mostly due to the problems most marvel movies have. Feel free to watch it and judge it yourself. However i am not going to give it a score, mostly cause depending on what kind of movies you like, you may just have an entirely different opinion than me, and I already know the score of my opinion. So if you watch it I'll let you score it on your own.
