The true reason why demons fall in love with angels

Why do demons fall for angels?

because though they're fallen they still recall the light they lost.

they crave the touch, however fleeting, of the pure and true

they seek it out with singleminded focus, and in the process destroy it anew

they take something pure and twist it into a shadow of what it was.

until all they are left holding onto is another demon of their own creation,

another being just craving what they lost after being unable to tear free of the demons grip.

for the demons allure is great and while it wows and woos with pretty words and empty smiles

its slowly leaching out your light

because you're caught up in the glamour

leaving yourself open, naive to the danger because of the very light they crave

until you look in the mirror and looking back is the face of a demon with only a memory.

and a craving.
