Why should I care?

Why should I care what they say? They payed enough attention to me to notice something about me to criticize, so why should I take offence to it? Why are words such a powerful weapon? Because people who say these things, whether they know or not, have a small grain of truth in their verbal attacks. They make you relive the insecurities that you thought you’d cast aside; but you can’t let them get to you. You have to be able to face your insecurities to be confident. You have to know your weaknesses to be strong. You have to accept yourself before you can ignore the words people throw at you. That is when you become the best you that you can be.
