A short story featuring my latest character creation, Aneska The Demented. |
She rolls along on her cantaloupe as casually as a child in a regular neighborhood would ride a bicycle. The cantaloupe has two big eyes and a mouth. The cantaloupe is merry and blissful, while the girl riding it is noticeably hazy and muttering to herself. As she rolls along on the smiling cantaloupe, she sort of stumbles along with very little grace. A rabbit hops along and in to the girl's rolling path, blocking her way. She pulls out a rod with a purple jewel at the tip, pointing it at the rabbit. "Get out of my way," the girl snarls. A bolt of electricity fires from the jewel, hitting the rabbit. Surrounded by a wall of multi-colored light, the wide-eyed rabbit raises in to the air. Bending, flexing and contorting, the rabbit is transformed in to a rock, and is flung with a whizz far in to the horizon. The girl continues along her way, stumbling and balancing onward aboard the laughing cantaloupe. "Aneska," a voice calls out. Aneska jumps off of the cantaloupe and turns around. Now she is standing straight and in place, standing side-by-side with the blissful cantaloupe. "Aneska," the bird cries out. Aneska readies her magic rod. "W-wait, no!" The bird stops in mid-air. "Y-your father wants to see you. He's in town square." Aneska puts her hands to her hips. "My father? My father didn't get me the potion I wanted for my birthday." The bird flies over to Aneska and lands on the grassy floor in front of her. "Aneska," the bird squawks, "it isn't any right of mine to meddle in the king's affairs, but I should think he does for you what he can." Aneska kicks the cantaloupe with force, as it speeds high and in to the distance. ("I'm flyiiiing.") The bird gulps, and continues; "Your siblings and you haven't been able to secure any additional islands for the king, outside of the ones he already conquered." Aneska yells suddenly and impulsively, compelling the fearful bird to step back a few steps. "All you do is bumble along all day creating havoc." Aneska's eyes cross; "Havoc?? You haven't seen havoc!!" The bird takes to the sky. "If you and your siblings would just try harder to"- Aneska points her magic rod at the bird in flight; her eyes move around all crazy like. "I don't talk to chickens!! You fly?? Fly! Fly! Fly!" Bolts of electricity blast from the purple jewel at the tip of Aneska's magic rod. ZAP! BUZZ! ZING! The bird flies away while trying desperately to dodge the lightning bolts. BUZZ! ZING! ZAP! Aneska laughs to herself with sadistic pleasure. With the bird far away, Aneska continues down the trail humming to herself. The blissful cantaloupe, which was kicked away earlier, whizzes across the sky in a state of ecstasy. "I'm flyiiiing."
