Across the country
Ten thousand miles
35 states.

Along the way
He would stop off
At such places
As the petrified forest
The saguaro national park
Yellowstone
Grand Tetons.

And sometimes
They got lost
When the GPS was wrong.

One day she said
She had left her shoes
At the motel.

They drove back
And found that someone
With the license plate Bingo
Had stolen their belongings
Left behind at the motel Six.

His weary wife complained
Are we there yet?
