The title says it all! (First Place, Taboo Words Contest) |
| 32 LINES My mother's husband is a dear That's why I love him so He never lets me fret or fear He's so very strong, you know! So you understand why I dedicate Not just a day, but three sixty-five To happily commemorate His love, his passion and his drive! He has so many stories to tell He's lived life to the full Happy memories on which to dwell Ah, this man is cool! He's acted in Hollywood movies He's dated Marilyn Monroe He is absolutely groovy From his head to his little toe! He taught me to swim, to sing He read 'Tom Sawyer' aloud He came for PTA meetings The only man in the 'mommy' crowd. He took me camping and hiking He gave me an album for stamps He took me driving and biking In his eyes, I was always the champ! His words of wisdom and advice Have been imparted in a fun way And whether naughty or nice He loves me every day. My friend, philosopher and guide My hero here at home Mommy chose right, to be his bride For my hero I write this poem.
