#1 in the AVI AVRAHAM Series, focusing on a "feckless hero" Israeli police detective in Tel Aviv, THE MISSING FILE chronicles Avraham's often misdirected attempts to locate a missing boy. The case is complicated by the interference of the family's neighbor, a high school teacher who had formerly tutored the boy in English as a second language, and persists in inserting himself into the case and into Avi's investigation; and by others involved who conceal the truth and playact.

I read this mystery as a Group Read of the Jewish Book Club Goodreads Group, and because I am unfamiliar with Israeli mysteries and police procedurals.
