Crown of Glory

The sunlit mountaintops
standout against the horizon,
as I drive west on I-15.

Pulling onto the shoulder,
I let my gaze rest
upon the crest
of the tallest peak.

I watch,
the dramatic hues of evening
give the mountaintop
a shimmering golden crown.

The tranquil beauty
of that crown of glory
is forever etched
in my soul.
