Our creepy crawlies, they abound,
Both up above and below the ground.
Trapdoor spiders lie in wait.
Snakes a plenty; don’t aggravate.
Leeches to your flesh they’ll stick,
And those ants? Will ruin a picnic.
Flies get up your nose and in your eyes.
To disturb a hornet’s nest is quite unwise.
Scorpions give a painful nip,
And the old mud crab has quite the grip.
My favourite creature is insignificant
But they really are magnificent.
Dung beetles never stop to rest,
Working day and night as if possessed
