A Kiss that will last forever |
The Christmas lights twinkled, As we walked hand-in-hand Leaving the crowd behind us And the joyful sounds of the band. They were headed to a spot just over the hill, Where the long-ago legend all began. There is a sign on top of the falls Of the kiss between a woman and man. One Christmas they came upon the falls, Walking together hand-in-hand. She was a proper banker's daughter, And he, a third-generation cowhand. Their love was frowned upon It was never meant to be, They came from two different worlds On that, everyone agreed. They swore they'd never be apart, So to the falls, they walked hand-in-hand. They kissed, then bravely lept from the cliff. The question is, 'Did it go as planned?' They found shredded bits of clothes From both of the desperate lovers. Some believe they died together, But their bodies were never discovered. Others believe they must have survived, And ran away to begin their lives Together they'd start their family, Free from hatred, and all of the strifes. They approached the sign where it all began, Softly talking, and walking hand-in-hand. Producing a ring, he dropped to one knee, She shook so badly, she could hardly stand. "Of course, I'll marry you", she said happily, Then under the sign, they kissed passionately.
