Oh, boy. It's Spring again in Massachusetts. We can open a window or two, and let some of that fresh May air waft though the house. Smell some early flowers. Maybe pick a few. Watch the dandelions mature from soft golden blossoms to fuzzy gray puffs. All over the yard.
One of the sights I always enjoy is the dog racing back and forth, leaping at those dandelion puffs. And one of the tasks I hate is trying to pick as many dandelions as possible before they turn into those cursed puffs. If I just let them all go, eventually they'll take over the entire yard. And I'm not sure whether that's good or bad. On one hand, they also take over the flower beds. On the other hand, they give me an excuse to put off mowing the lawn for a few weeks. And as for the dog, he'll be happy to run around the yard barking at birds and squirrels.
I can't wait to get out there and bask in the sun before the days turn too hot to enjoy. I only hope that it stops raining before June.
