On the passing of a friend

I lost a friend today,
and I don't know what to say.
I sighed a little;
I cried a little;
I knew him by and by.

I lost a friend today,
and I don't know what to feel.
So I'll write a little,
Sit quiet a little:
I knew him passing by.

I lost a friend today,
And I don't know what to say...
