Key Facts: Klara’s single mother. Gloria is the head of the Ossler family and a devoted mother of four dedicated to raising her children well. She works as a manager at a local supermarket, having taken advantage of her job’s flexible work schedule when raising her children. Now she devotes more time to work, though still spends time with family.

Personality: Gloria is a friendly woman and a devoted mother, who intends to treat all of her children equally but does on occasion unintentionally neglect her daughters due to focusing on the safety needs of her Tiny son. Her motherly nature leads to the tendency to adopt her children’s friends as her own, extending her litter of children yet further.

Interaction with Tinies: Gloria is friendly and protective to Tinies by default. Although she sometimes unintentionally treats Tinies like children, she doesn’t intend to demean them and will correct her behaviour when reminded to do so. Experiences with her son have taught her how vulnerable Tinies can be, which can lead her to be overprotective.

Relationship with Rachel: Ever since she became Klara’s friend in high school, Gloria has essentially treated Rachel as one of her own children, showering the Tiny girl with affection and inviting her on family outings. As with her own son, Gloria is occasionally prone to being overprotective of Rachel, such as securing her on her own person during outings, but for the most part she allows her daughter’s friend to be fully independent.

Key Facts: Klara’s older sister. Runa is a peacemaker between her siblings and was the one to settle disputes that arose between them, continuing into the modern day. She works at a logistics company, overseeing transportation of goods to Sanctuary Cities. Runa moved out of the Ossler household after getting married, but still visits frequently.

Personality: Runa is a calm woman who always seeks to analyse situations from a dispassionate viewpoint before acting. She is, however, not immune to getting angry, and once triggered can be as single-minded and stubborn as anyone else. She wants to start a family with Lydia, and is working on convincing her wife that now is the right time.

Interaction with Tinies: Thanks to helping raise her little brother, Runa is mostly fond of Tinies, and is usually kind and protective of them. Nevertheless, she does have some lingering jealously towards her brother for always stealing their mother’s attention and this can sometimes bleed into her perspective of other Tinies she sees as overcoddled.

Relationship with Rachel: Runa has known Rachel for several years and is fond of her younger sister’s friend. She appreciates that Rachel is independent and doesn’t expect to be overly cared for, though remains willing to offer the Tiny assistance if its needed.


LYDIA OSSLER

Key Facts: Runa’s wife and Klara’s sister-in-law. Lydia has been with Runa since their middle school years and was a frequent visitor to the Ossler household as Runa’s friend even before she became her girlfriend and later wife. She works at the same company as Runa and the two moved in together after their marriage. She often visits her in-laws.

Personality: Although she may appear frightening to some, Lydia’s interests in goth and punk culture are limited mostly to aesthetics, and she is more upbeat and friendly than many would anticipate. She is keen to get on well with the Ossler family and their social network, often inviting her sisters-in-law and their friends to parties and other events.

Interaction with Tinies: Lydia believes that Tinies have the same rights as Unaffected and is perfectly willing to make friends and interact with them. She’s had more than a few Tinies shy away from her in the past, which saddens her, but she doesn’t blame them for it. Like many Unaffected, she is prone to underestimating Tiny vulnerabilities.

Relationship with Rachel: Lydia has not had as much contact with Rachel as the other Osslers, but the two of them are familiar enough with each other to be on friendly terms. She is aware that Rachel is important to Klara, and as such wants to deepen their bond.


NADIN OSSLER

Key Facts: Klara’s younger sister. Nadin is the youngest daughter of the Ossler family and second youngest sibling overall. Having chosen not to pursue higher education, she initially worked part-time as a labourer, but has recently gotten a full-time position with Pathfinder Constructions as a construction worker thanks to Klara’s recommendation.

Personality: Nadin is a natural-born troublemaker who enjoys playing minor pranks and generally making trouble for other people, though she does at least usually know where to draw the line. She is closer to Klara than her other siblings, due to Runa frequently attempting to correct her behaviour as a child, and her constant pranking of her brother.

Interaction with Tinies: Growing up Nadin wasn’t particularly kind to Tinies. This didn’t stem from any dislike of them, but rather from her love of pranks and Tinies being easy targets, both to be pranked and to be used in pranks against Unaffected. Thankfully she has mellowed out somewhat with age and is now more careful, though still pulls pranks.

Relationship with Rachel: Rachel was a victim of several pranks from Nadin when they first met, though more recently Nadin has apologised for instances where she went too far, and they are on friendly terms. Regardless, the temptation to prank Rachel remains.


JOEL OSSLER

Key Facts: Joel is Kara’s younger brother and the only Tiny in the Ossler family. He aims to become a professional gamer, and has a streaming channel for his gameplay. Though he still currently relies on his family for support, he has dreams of making it big one day. He is also a collector of Pre-Outbreak memorabilia, particularly those in limited supply.

Personality: A shy young man, Joel has a hard time standing up for himself and usually gives in to the wishes of his family, even when he doesn’t agree with them. Having been smothered by his mother most of his life, he appreciates her love but secretly wants to become independent, and has plan to move into a share house with his fellow gamers. He knows that some of his sisters begrudge the attention he receives from his mother, though he’d trade places with them in a moment in order to have true independence.

Interaction with Unaffected: With a family full of Unaffected, Joel has spent more time with Unaffected than he has other Tinies, and sees them as being a part of everyday life. He’s had his fair share of incidents with his mother and sisters over the years and has a healthy respect for how dangerous Unaffected can be, though can be careless at times.

Relationship with Rachel: Joel has met Rachel a number of times as his sister’s friend though the two are not particularly close. He perceives Rachel as having more freedom than him and is a little jealous of her, though he doesn’t let this sour their interactions.
