Gas & Clutch Magic

Imagine a 14 year old girl.
Barreling around the corner.
Mint green VW mini bus.
My brother in law the owner.

That stick seemed about 10 feet.
Went right into the floor.
"Get the clutch and the gas right!
Don't stall it any more!

I'm doing my best.
Hit that corner wide.
If pedestrians were out there;
I'm glad they went inside.

Took me out at night.
Not many on the street to kill.
Rowland Heights California.
Big houses on the hill.

We stayed up for hours.
Driving those sleepy streets.
Gas and clutch magic.
Under my 14 year old feet.

Thanks for teaching me.
Couldn't have learned alone.
No animals, humans or VW's injured;
while writing this poem.
