A man who lost his tongue but won the world

Four birds told a tale uncommon
A man lost his tongue, but the world he won
'Well, this is not half bad and twice as fun
For the world is big, and my mouth I would uselessly run’

To himself, that’s what the man said
The most delicious of foods, he wanted to be fed
But the world said, ‘No can do, I am afraid’
You would have known why if the fine print you had read

For your wishes to be followed, you need to speak loud and clear
To what is required, your diction is nowhere near
Only garbled speech, you will be able to manage, from what I hear
Hence, in losing your tongue, the world you lost, I fear
