It is difficult to be thankful when you're a terrible excuse of a villain.

A Holiday To Forget

The flickering fluorescent lights of Professor Seldom's secret lair did little to brighten the mood, but the unmistakable aroma of a roasted turkey was undeniable. Tevin Tailor, aka Professor Seldom, grimaced, attempting to carve the bird one-handed, his left arm encased in an elaborate plaster cast. "Another glorious Thanksgiving, villains," he announced, the sarcasm thick enough to cut with a spoon.

Lilith Traynor, Ostrich-Girl, hopped to the rickety metal table, her right leg in a bright pink cast. "Glorious indeed, Seldom. I spent October outrunning Captain Comet on one leg. It's hardly conducive to a swift getaway." She gestured with her free hand, accidentally knocking over a gravy boat.

Amber Zhou, Toad-Girl, grunted from her perch on a stolen ergonomic chair, her left arm in an intimidating black cast. "Try escaping a SWAT team and a swarm of angry bees trying to reclaim your stolen honey, all while holding a giant bag of gold and having a broken arm. The heroes are getting... inventive." She eyed the slightly scorched pumpkin pie with suspicion.

"My problem," Tevin declared, finally managing to hack off a wing, "is that my attempts at global subjugation consistently end with me in traction. This year, it was a rogue squirrel and a poorly timed banana peel. Who even has banana peels anymore?"

A shared sigh filled the lair. Their casts, a testament to another year of glorious failure, clinked occasionally as they struggled to eat. "Next year," Lilith vowed, prodding her potatoes with a fork, "no casts. We unify. We conquer. We get proper health insurance and better escape routes."

Amber nodded sagely, taking a large bite of pie with her good hand. "And someone else carves the turkey." Their resolution, a simple, unified plea for less physical pain, felt like a small, villainous victory.
