My friend gave his 2 year old a drum set! Can you hear him play?

The little boy with a shovel for his sand

Rat-tat-tat and a boom-boom-boom
crash-crash-crash cacophonous tunes
that brighten the day for his mom with the plugs
      lighten the night for his dad with the plugs
                               in their ears
                               in their ears
                               in their ears.

The little boy smiles and sucks on his thumbs
      little boy smiles and laughs with his chums
      little boy smiles and bangs on his drums
                               because he can
                                'cause he can
                                'cause he can.

Written for a friend, Gary McPike, Jr. who gave his son a drum set for Christmas, 2004, when Gary III was 28 months old. He turn 7 on August 20, '09. His brother, Caleb is 3 now.
