Thoughts, we all have them. What is yours? |
What is on your mind? I love all type of topics and will talk about almost anything! So, what is happening with you lately? The Huntington Japanese Gardens, photo by Seabreeze |
Are you ready for a new year? I always look forward to a new year I am not one who makes resolutions but I do get into getting rid of some things. Out goes some of those clothes I didn't wear last year. Maybe a piece of furniture, or old sheets and some dishes. It is time for new, right? I have already ordered and receive some new curtain panels for my bedroom. I see I need new lights outside to decorate that walk way. Our dog has picked up a few pounds and needs a new carrying case for travel. I am thinking of renewing my commitment to re-reading the Bible from cover to cover (did that this year). So, it is important to look at the new year with optimism and maybe make a few promises to yourself. I might even try to walk more. In Florida, it get pretty hot and unless you get moving early in the morn, walking isn't that much fun. So I need to move and do it sooner. Little Guy, our dog, doesn't like to walk. He would run if I let him. It is hard to get a good pace out of him. I also plan on putting in more study in learning reading piano notes. I am doing okay but I know I can do better and plan better. I hope your New Year starts out with a bang! Seabreeze |

I cannot believe that Christmas is almost here and the year almost past! I got to thinking about the New Year and things I wanted to do in January. Closet cleaning and purging to name a few. How about you? I also thought about all the stuff on my computer, especially pictures. So I was reviewing and came across some pics I took when I was visiting museums in Los Angeles. I love art, all kinds, so museums are a big deal for me. At the Norton Simon Museum in Los Angeles, California, I took a snap shot of The Thinker. The artist is Auguste Rodin. When you see the Thinker, it is hard not to wonder what he was thinking or what Rodin wanted us to think he was thinking. Was it about mankind, or the world? Originally named The Poet according to Wikipedia. It was part of a large commission and it probably makes more since when viewed with its original works called The Gates of Hell. I think he was saying, "Get me out of here". In any case it fascinates me and I thought it would be fun the share it in a trinket. So enjoy, my gift to you, Merry Christmas! Seabreeze |
It is the 13th. And, it also is Friday! Should we be concerned? Who out there believes in such superstitions? I have never been one to believe in superstitions. I am somewhat considered a conspiracy believer. You say what does that have to do with it? I think probably nothing but to me its seems they might have some connection. What is the connection? If there is fire there is smoke. Let's look. If you walk along and see a latter up against construction wall, do you go around or do you just say, "what the heck" and go under? I go around because if I go under, something just might happen. Something may fall through or I might hit the latter or ? Why take the chance, right? Now you say how does that relate to conspiracy thinking? Well, if there is anything that seem unusual, out-of-place, just doesn't sit right, that gets you thinking deeper, right? And then you find something else isn't right and you think a little deeper. May be the comparison is that we think, analyze the situation more. What do you think? I am really interested in your opinion and it is a fun discussion, right? Seabreeze |
What are your thoughts about Karaoke?? Do you sing and enjoy it? My community where I live has Friday night Karaoke and I love it. It goes from 6pm to 10. Some Fridays I make the whole 4 hours but being 79 and the chairs are not the best, it usually is less time. My hubby, now he is amazing as he is 91 and he hangs in there. He sings as well. Karaoke is special because we all do not have to be an Elvis or Barbra or Alan Jackson. No, we just have to love music. We gather, bring snacks to share and our favorite brew! Years ago, I was a very shy person and wanted to get over it so I signed up for a singing group. The teacher was a person who sung professionally, played piano and was very encouraging to us newbies. So, I sung a song in front of about 6 of us. Not a lot of people but believe me, it helped a bunch. So now, I have been told, I have a good voice and I believe those who have said that are sincere. But, a key component is to sing within your range of voice. Some folks do not honor this. However, I am very forgiving and tolerate it. After all it is for fun and we are not professionals but you can only take so much cat screaming! The other aspect is timing. Folks, you must watch the bouncing ball, bouncing finger or whatever is on the screen to help you keep in time. So, if you have not tried it, I say give it a go. You will enjoy it even if you try it only once. Seabreeze 12.02.24 |
