Dark Secret
This dark secret is like a gaping hole between us
Growing like a fungus
Spongy with gangrene.
Eating us alive from the inside out.
An abyss separates us
Filled with lies and deception
All to hide the secret...
Keeping us apart
Without us even realizing
Just how dismal it is
Until one day we step forward
And the earth gives away
The façade shatters -
And all that can be heard
Is the screams of terror
As the unknown
Swallows us whole.
