old age reflection

Reflections

As I get older
one step closer
to the grave,

I am filled
With reflection.

Reflecting on my past life
On all the things I have done
And the things I have not done.

Things left to do
And things that will
Never happen.

Filled with these thoughts
I contemplate
The end times.

And begin to slow down
Thinking that soon
My life will
Come to an end.

Filled with regrets
And thoughts
About possible do-overs.

What would I have done
Differently
If I had a chance
For a cosmic do-over.

But in the end
I am content.

The one thing
I did right
Was marry.

The lady of my dreams
And that has made
It was all great.
