| Happy Independence Day, America! Red, white and blue fireworks, patriotic music and for a few singular minutes, we come together as a country. Then comes July 5th, and we are at each others' throats once again. Toby Keith is rolling in his grave, I'm afraid. It's election year, and we've already had one presidential debate. On one side, we have a convicted felon, and on the other side, we have an octogenarian who has his party worried. It seems to me that we have a two party system and neither party has any integrity left. But who cares? We are America, and we get to choose! The stars have seem to align themselves for a coming who-knows-what free for all, and popularity doesn't even get a mention. Opinions fly all over the place, and the madness and mayhem make for good TV controversy. Yes, we are free to choose our leaders, but we are not free from the consequences of our choices.
