HAVES AND HAVE NOTS
HAVES AND HAVE NOTS

Man fights man; neighbour, neighbour;
Even the brothers fight.
So much so that countries, too,
By fighting show their might.

Why fight they? We may write tomes.
But the answer is this:
All of us are enchanted
By a greedy, golden kiss.

We covet what’s not ours.
We don’t want to earn bread.
Snatching it from others’ hand,
We value much instead.

All divisions of the world
Are, in fact, meaningless.
There are only two parties:
Those who have more, or, less.

The haves draw boundaries
Around what they possess.
Not content with this, they want
To, have-nots, dispossess.

When have-nots can no longer
Tolerate injustice,
The mighty drop bombs on them.
An act of cowardice!
