The Saga of Prosperous Snow Continues |
Monday, January 23, 2017 Sunday Devotional It rained all day Sunday. It was one of those cold rains that chills a person to the bone. I think that was why I didn't feel inspired Sunday morning. The sky was cloudy. The air was chilly. I had to force myself to do anything. I thought that a warm shower might help, but it didn't. Despite the way I felt I accomplished quit a bit of writing. I made some blog entries, finished my edition of the January fantasy newsletter, and did a few reviews. In the afternoon I went to the January Devotional Service at the Baha'i Center. The subject for this month was prayer. The entire service was devoted to prayer. During the spiritual portion prayers from several different religions were read. The service begin with a guided meditation which was followed by the reading of Hindu, Buddhist, Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Sufi, and Babi prayers. As the prayers were read I could feel the Holy Spirit flow through the center energizing and inspiring those who attended. It was a wonderful way to start out 2017 and I know that the Devotional Services the rest of the year will be just as inspiring. The February service is scheduled for Sunday, February 19 and the subject is The Divine Physician. The Motivational Monday prompt for "30-Day Blogging Challenge ON HIATUS" Actress Tiffani Thiessen, born on this day in 1974, once said "When you interact with someone you always take something from them." What is something you've been able to take with you from any of your fellow challengers so far this month, and how have you been inspired by each other? Writing Motivation What is something I've been able to take with me from my fellow challengers? Determination and inspiration are the two main attributes I've take with me from my fellow challengers. I know that sometimes I can be a bit lax in reading and responding the blog entries; this is something I'm attempting to work on in 2017. Every blog entry I have read and commented on or liked has contained something that caused me to think or inspired me to try harder to push my writing to new levels. All the comments I have received are encouraging. |
