May 2022 Prompt #23

It's the second to last Monday Blues Night in the Banana Bar. We will finish on a high note, but first, we'll have to hit rock bottom.
Don't be afraid to get deep and dark today - We'll have a glimmer of hope for you in next week's prompt.

PROMPT: What is your worst case scenario prediction for the future? Consider short term local predictions and expand to long term global preditions.

I predict another hot summer here on the outskirts of the plains. Last summer was brutal, temperatures reached 108° here in Roundup in the drought. We've had a bit of rain, but no drought-busting yet. So the drought pushes on.

So this translates to longer global warming. I predict higher temperatures worldwide. Food shortages, sea-levels rising.

Gloom and doom, the sky is falling, chicken little, the sky is falling! But on the flip side, perhaps the sun will go dark. All it takes is a degree either way, cooler or hotter to spell doom for us here on earth.

So, plant a garden, secure your food short-term shortages. I pray for rain.
