03/21/2023-"Poetry in my life "

I have been writing poetry
For almost 55 years
I am largely self-taught
Learning by doing,
Reading and participating
In poetry challenges and contests
I write three to ten poems every day
Can’t live without my daily
Poetry fix.

03/22/2023-" After a long waiting."

Sam Adams
Wanted to join
The US Diplomatic service
Took the required tests
Many times
Finally passed everything
It took almost eight years
And became a diplomat
Serving in ten countries
What a long strange journey
His life became.

03/23/2023-"That is my need."

When Sam Adams
Met his wife
After dreaming of her
For eight years
He knew
That meeting her
Was his deepest need
Three days later
He proposed
40 years of marriage followed.

03/24/2023-" In a Burial ground"

Whenever I return home
To Berkeley, California
I always visit my mother’s grave
And the grave of my best friend’s
Mother and father too.
And I sense their spirits
Hovering nearby
Knowing that they know
I came by.
