Howling at the Moon at the Cosmos Bar
Howling at the Moon at the Cosmos Bar

On the night of the full moon
The residents of the Cosmos Bar
Held a hash run
Drinking beer at the end
Then going outside
For their monthly ritual
Howling at the lunatic light
Shinning down on them

Note: the Hash House Harriers is an international running club with a drinking problem, that runs around the world. And afterward, drink beer and sing bawdy NSF songs and jokes

The Cosmos Bar is a composite of expat bars in Bangkok

POEMS TO INSPIRE YOU

The Freedom of the Moon
by Robert Frost

I've tried the new moon tilted in the air
Above a hazy tree-and-farmhouse cluster
As you might try a jewel in your hair.
I've tried it fine with little breadth of luster,
Alone, or in one ornament combining
With one first-water start almost shining.

I put it shining anywhere I please.
By walking slowly on some evening later,
I've pulled it from a crate of crooked trees,
And brought it over glossy water, greater,
And dropped it in, and seen the image wallow,
The color run, all sorts of wonder follow.

Summer Sun
by Robert Louis Stevenson

Great is the sun, and wide he goes
Through empty heaven without repose;
And in the blue and glowing days
More thick than rain he showers his rays.

Though closer still the blinds we pull
To keep the shady parlour cool,
Yet he will find a chink or two
To slip his golden fingers through.

The dusty attic spider-clad,
He, through the keyhole, maketh glad;
And through the broken edge of tiles,
Into the laddered hay-loft smiles.

Meantime his golden face around
He bares to all the garden ground,
And sheds a warm and glittering look
Among the ivy's inmost nook.

Above the hills, along the blue,
Round the bright air with footing true,
To please the child, to paint the rose,
The gardener of the World, he goes.
