About July 4th
Prompt: July 4 is Alice In Wonderland Day. What are some ways to celebrate this day? Write about this in your Blog entry today.

----------

Shame on Alice, trying to steal the limelight from USA's Independence Day!

Not that she needed to butt into our national holiday, either. She had enough fun and friends, and much more fantastical and bizarre characters than today's politicians and yesterday's Colonials. I mean who else could come up with characters like the Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter, the Queen of Hearts, and the Caterpillar, except for Lewis Carroll! And who else can make Alice fall through a rabbit hole to roam around a nonsensical world filled peculiar creatures?

Then, can those creatures be compared to what we have in our lives today? Well, I bet the answers to this would vary greatly, but I like to stay on the side of our patriotic displays of celebration; although, the bold assertions and the articulations of King George versus those of the thirteen colonies, way back when, especially about the pursuit of happiness can sound as far out as the characters surrounding Alice. Luckily for our guys, they put in the word pursuit. Otherwise, happiness alone would even stun the Cheshire Cat and the Mad Hatter.

Let me stop to write about what's surreal now, and celebrate, instead, our nation's beginning, since this is the time for reflection on our history and our sense of national pride and unity. As the Vulcan from Star Trek would say:

Long live and Prosper, USA!
