A Moment In Heaven
She stood at the gate
she waited, wondering
what the point was
the point to living

The answer did not come to her
she heard the gates whisper
a voice of light called greeting
up a road of gold she began to wander

Other figures stood there
each casting her a warm smiled
but she soon came to a wall
after barely a mile

It seemed that heaven was too small
it seemed few sould were there
it couldn't be a lack of forgiveness
for God had plenty to spare

As if hearing her
a voice gave answer from her side
"Too many people have asked forgiveness
with inner knowlege that they've lied."

At first she did not understand
had no notion of what the angel had said
and so the angel went on
and into knowlege she was led

"When people ask forgiveness
they must mean it heart and soul
too many ask it
with self need as their goal

"They don't truly feel remorse
for their wrongdoing, their sin
they only claim they do
so when they die they are allowed in

"And so they are not truly saved
though that's what they believed."
It saddened her to hear this
it made her cry and caused her heart to bleed

She wondered why then she'd been saved
she'd never asked forgiveness at all
She'd thought herself undeserving
that she was meant to fall

"But that's exactly why you're here,"
the angel murmered soothingly
"Your remorse was true
though you did not believe

"You belong here most of all
the one who is humble beyond doubt
you believed your sins were worste
and so you did without.

"You belong here most of all
because your heart is true
that is why the one who's here
is not them but you."

She stood there for a moment
then turned to him to smile
but he had vanished from her side
had been gone all the while

And so that one girl
had eternity to walk with God
she realized her time was not done
and she decided, with a nod...

She must try again
she now knew what life was for
what she had learned that moment
she must go back and teach to more

And so she was reborn
a tiny infant baby
but she would grow up and remember
and help others to see.
