Ancestrial Trepidation
Sadder days
Took place in the space that I wasted
Time made haste as I was born
Seven-generation scorn
There is no morn
Only death of seed
As it takes root in southern soil
Making strange fruit
Watered by Jim Crow
Sowed by Uncle Sam
A family damned
As my great-great-grandmother cried
Watching her first born die
And listen as they continued to lie
That there will be reprimands
I die in the lies of my oppressors
To know that they will live in my successors
And the struggle will never end
Because it began
The end of the Zulu nation
