Humanity in the Cosmos
12 Rahmat 163 B.E. – July 4, 2006 A.D.

I was listening to the news the yesterday or the day before, I’m not sure which day it was, anyway I heard the voice of the President. Now I don’t usually take down the quotes of any politicians, I don’t have to because one of my brothers will e-mail me any political quotes he finds interesting. I’ve found that the quotes he e-mails me are usually the most interesting quotes. However, the words Mr. Bush spoke caught my attention. President George W. Bush said: “Human beings are going into the Cosmos.â€

This brings us to what will human beings find when they get into the Cosmos. They will find all sorts of mysterious and wonderful creatures. Consider that the diversity of life on earth can only point to a greater diversity in the universe beyond. Also, consider the possibility that the myths and legends of earth may live and breathe on other planet. Can’t you just imagine a world where unicorns and dragons live or a world where elves, hobbits, and dwarves live? Of course the dangers on those worlds will be different from anything we know here. However, those dangers won’t be unimaginable. Consider the task of a storyteller or an author is to remember the past and to prepare for the future.
