I Remember Autumn in Oklahoma
12 Asma 163 B.E. – August 31, 2006

I started to write a poem about autumn in Oklahoma for a contest. Then I realized it wasn’t autumn in Oklahoma I wanted to write about, but a cottonwood tree. Ok, a specific cottonwood tree, the one in my grandparent’s front yard. So I wrote about the tree, however the poem turned out to be a romantic poem (or as close to a romantic poem as I ever get).

I still think Autumn in Oklahoma would be a good poem, but I’m going to put it on hold for a while. This is what I’ve gotten so far.

I remember autumn in Oklahoma,
yellow leaves from the Cottonwood Tree
in my Grandparents front yard
falling to the ground

Not sure where to go from there, I’ve written other poem about that tree.
